Bluebell was found in a ladies garden after being mauled by a dog.  She was clearly living rough and was searching for food.  The lady raced the poor kitty to the vet, where she had an operation to save her life and she called the SPSCC for help as the little cat sure did look like a Siamese. She was then moved to the SPSCC in house vet to be further treated and be assessed for re-homing.  Having lived wild for so long it would have to be a very special home. 

We now hear that Bluebell is in her new home and settled with her new family and one other cat who she is gradually getting used to. The lady taking to sleeping on her sofa so that Bluebell could have her bedroom.  

Although Bluebell was a pretty enough name, she has a new special name of Calliope Blue and answers to Callie after a short time.  Although Calliope means 'beautiful voice' - she is still quite a hissy missy at times in between the purring and cuddling. 

​They have cat proofed the garden so Callie and her pal, Tigarian, can be outside with company safely and enjoy this glorious summer weather with their family.  

With Callie first Vet check done and has passed with flying colours, she is now starting to fit in and her and Tigarian are beginning to become feline friends ever so slowly. So life is really looking up for her now. She is enjoying a healthy diet and ppours out her affection when she feels safe and happy.

The exciting life of a Meezer who's parents had a recent trip to the amazing African Continent and brought back their very own Rhinoceros.  Not sure on the paperwork for bringing in close to extinct creatures, this purple one horn was smuggled in via baggage and set free in the kitchen to live a life of freedom among the prairie dogs and feline inhabitants. 

First to tackle this Rhinocerotidae is Nimes, the ferocious Meezer. With one tackle she had him in her grasp and has given him a good thwakking for good measure.  The wild creatures in our homes are as mighty as any on the  Savannah. 

There is nothing worse than being snowed in.  Then imagine being snowed in AND the boiler decides that it's even too cold to even fire up.  With Heating Engineers wading through the snow to rescue us all we wait in dressing gowns and coats..

Gus was the only one to take this 'being cold' very seriously indeed and invented his own Siamese Central Heating System by hopping inside a warm dressing gown to steal the much needed heat from a human.  Nothing better on his soft silky fur, which was being weighed down with icicles, than a snugly teddy bear fabric.

Now toasty and warm and not caring much about any engineer arriving.  "I am alright Jack." Says Gus as he hunkers down for a nap.

This is GUS.  He is partial to one of those specially handmade and designed pipe cleaner spiders sold by the SPSCC to raise money for cats less fortunate than himself.

He demonstrates his spider catching talents all over the house and often said spider is found in the poor old dogs water dish or worse, once wet, dragged into a shoe for the unsuspecting wearer to find. 

Today's escapades with spider takes him to the laundry pile where he volunteers their services to help with the ironing and afterwards a little sit by the fire to read the Sunday papers!  

In May our siamese queen Ellie had 3 boys, the smallest a weedy little seal point who needed lots of extra TLC. I had no thought of keeping him as husband (he who thinks he is the boss) had decided no more boys after we lost our male neuter who’d sprayed almost every day of his 13 years.

The seal point kitten, who we called Harry, stayed a little longer to make his size and weight but eventually grew into a handsome little chap who has a delightful personality.

A few weeks later I had a phone call from what sounded like a really good home but half way through telling them about Harry, I found myself saying 'well we are not certain what we are doing with him I'll call you back'. Off the phone I realized I could not bear the thought of parting with him, such a charmer, he adores everyone and everything in this world and never stops purring. Rather cleverly (I thought), I said to Al, 'perhaps we should keep Harry he was such a poorly little chap'. The reply was 'I knew there was no way you were going to let him go, but if he sprays he's out' (as if!!) Reading between the lines I realized that hubby loved the little chap as much as I did.

A few weeks later our beloved tortie siamese Poppy had tests at the vet and we were told we were going to lose her. We realized then that fate had destined that we had been meant to keep Harry and even during the sad dark days before and after we lost Poppy, we could not help but smile at his antics and loving ways (he steals belts and drags them around with his mum chasing them and retrieves for hours).

He has even helped console Amy who was Poppy's best friend, cuddling her and washing her right up to the end, we knew she would be missing her so much but Harry helped by cuddling up to her almost as if he knew how sad she was.

His mother dotes on him and he has become rather spoiled as befits such a special kitten!
And so far he has not sprayed..........!

It's a Nimes, a species of Siamese that rarely ventures too far from the tops of cupboards and backs of sofas, it's a strange and tangled world down there.  But this Siam can read the patterns of life signs on 'the box' as well as any cat and this intrigues and stuns this little feline into silence.  A rare and wonderful thing to behold - a quiet Siamese!
